Jared Leto

Jared Leto is an American actor and singer-songwriter. After starting his career with television appearances in the early 1990s, Leto achieved recognition for his role as Jordan Catalano on the television series My So-Called Life (1994). The recipient of numerous awards, including an Academy Award, a Golden Globe, and a Screen Actors Guild Award for his performance as a transgender woman in “Dallas Buyers Club” (2013). As of March 2022, Jared Leto has been nominated for 98 awards, winning 43. His awards in music are credited to him and fellow rock band members of Thirty Seconds to Mars.

He made his film debut in How to Make an American Quilt (1995) and received critical praise for his performance in Prefontaine (1997). Leto earned critical acclaim after portraying heroin addict Harry Goldfarb in Requiem for a Dream (2000). He later began focusing increasingly on his music career, returning to acting with Panic Room (2002), Alexander (2004), Lord of War (2005), Lonely Hearts (2006), Chapter 27 (2007), and Mr. Nobody (2009). In 2012, he directed the documentary film Artifact. He then appeared in Suicide Squad (2016) and Blade Runner 2049 (2017).

Leto is the lead vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and main songwriter for Thirty Seconds to Mars. Their debut album, 30 Seconds to Mars (2002), was released to positive reviews, The band achieved worldwide fame with the release of their second album A Beautiful Lie (2005). Their following releases, This Is War (2009), and Love, Lust, Faith and Dreams (2013), received further critical and commercial success. As of September 2014, the band has sold over 15 million albums worldwide.

For the last 2 years Leto played suspected serial killer Albert Sparma in John Lee Hancock's 2021 film The Little Things. The film earned him nominations for a Golden Globe Award and Screen Actors Guild Award—both for Best Supporting Actor. Leto portrays fashion designer and business magnate Paolo Gucci in Ridley Scott's biographical crime drama film House of Gucci, for which he was nominated for a Satellite Award, Critics' Choice Movie Award and Screen Actors Guild Award. 

He plays Adam Neumann alongside Anne Hathaway in Apple+'s 2022 WeCrashed about the rise and fall of the WeWork.
On April 1, 2022, a landmark film “Morbius” was released and brought Jared Leto on top again. Jared had a sincere talk with William Mullally regarding his personal journey, where he confessed that he couldn't take such a role in a big Hollywood movie earlier than when he turned 50 years old. He found the role surprisingly challenging since it was less character-driven than his prior performances and closer to his real-life personality. Answering a question about following steps, he mentioned the possibility of “walking away soon”.
